A reunion of the alumni of University of North Bengal who reside in and around Kolkata was held at an auditorium of the Jadavpur University on 30th Dec. A total of seventy (70) alumnus attended the meeting including a few from other states and one alumnus from USA. They covered a time span of 1966 to 2000.
The reunion was organised by the NBU Alumni Association and it was a huge success.
At the outset, the alumni introduced themselves describing their journey in life after obtaining degrees and leaving the campus. There were reminiscence of the student life and experiences in the respective Departments and Hostels. Each of them was overwhelmed with emotion while they enjoyed walking down the memory lane.
After lunch, the participants joined in a brief cultural programme comprising songs, poems, recitations and music. Dr.Bipul Behari Saha presented audio-visual recitation of poems duly assisted by flute performed by Anjan. Sujit Das recited poems composed by him.Anjan Majumdar performed flute.
Prof. Anindya Pal presided in the meeting assisted by Dr. Subodh Roy and Dr.Swapan Ghosal.Dr.T.K.Chatterjee anchored the meeting. Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Shyamal Bhadra.
It was decided to organise the next meet preferably in the NBU Campus in 2018.
